Last night I received word from Ruth Downey that Bud has passed away. Bud had been battling cancer fro 8 months. Last Friday Bud lost his battle and passed away. I left the 569th April 1968. Bud served with our company from November 1968-August 1969. I got to know Bud through the internet searching for guys who served with our outfit. Our hope was someday to have a reunion with all those who served with the 569th. I was thinking about Bud only last week. Saying to my self, I should call Bud to see how he is and to talk about our plan. Well maybe down the road we can still all meet again. I send my Deepest Sympathy to Bud, Ruth and his whole family. Jimmy 67-68

Here are photos Bud submitted for the website:

Here is his original site profile written by him in 2002:

I am very sorry to hear of Bud's passing. :(
I didn't know that he was ill.
Only 61 years old, 6 weeks younger than me.

I remember Bud as a friendly, fun loving guy. We were both members of Carto platoon.
He was one of the original group that inspired me to put together this website.

My condolences go out to the family.
